Whoa!! Its been like ages since I have posted something here. The old ODC did have its own advantages. Nevertheless a lot has happened since last and the biggest change awaits. More on that later.
First updates on other fronts.
The movie marathon that started very positively has now slowed down to snails pace in terms of excitement. But yes, there were some movies that I did add to the list.
1) Argo - Absolute Classic. Wasn't a Ben Affleck fan before this. But I truly am now! Wonderful story, wonderful acting, exceptional screenplay, mind blowing highs throughout. Trust me. If it was not on your watch list, it should be added without a shadow of a doubt.
2) Man of Steel - Ennnhh! I mean the hype and the expectations were too high on this one and it failed miserably in my opinion to live up to either. The visual effects are good but the fight sequences are long and dragging and make you say ' Ok. Can you just get on with the story?'. The second part is rumoured to have a Superman Vs Batman angle with ben affleck as batman. I am not keeping my hopes up. It is always better to go as a neutral viewer. That way you wont be disappointed if its not up to mark for you.
3) Romans (Mal) - Good. Nice laughs throughout. I really like Biju Menon and he has not disappointed. Chackochan is also good. Nothing much on the story front. Its a one time watch movie. Enjoy for the laughs.
4) Madarasa Pattinam - Superb. Arya is just amazing. The visuals are spectacular. The movie is nicely paced as well. The leading lady has done a good job as well. Captures the life of rural india at that time very well. The BGM and songs are very good as well. Definitely must watch.
5) Gravity - Mind Numbing. What a powerful movie. You will, not for a nano second, doubt if they are really in space. Absolute state of the art visuals. Superb performances from Sandra Bullock and Clooney. Sandra does seemed to have aged a lot though but that doesn't matter in any way here. Clooney is just the best in terms of being the cool calm guy and he does that with charm here. MUST WATCH.
6) Now You See Me - Very Good. Done without any big names to back it up. And it delivers.Convincing story, eventhough there do seem to be holes here and there. But overall a nice attempt and is worth a watch. Watch it with an open mind.
My MS is about to finish and i will then be a post graduate. Not Bad eh?
PES Fun Fiesta just concluded and we won the movie spoof competition. Here's a link for anyone interested.
Just moved to a new proj and have some old mates with me this time. Its gonna be fun with Sasi Ettan, Joe Paul, Suraj Buddy, Asina and Antony. Kuku is also part of the DFT team. So this is gonna be interesting.
I will update on the big news front in the next post as the 'Boss' has currently not given her approval for sharing the news. Keep guessing. Until Next time.
