If I leave here tomorrow

It was a few years ago that I heard a song from a band with a wierd name .. The song was called 'Ballad of Curtis Lowe'...Something had struck me.. I was hooked for life. I searched for more from the band and one of my friends gave me a few songs from his collection.....
LynYrd SkynYrd was(sort of still 'is') a country rock band which gave some of the most memorable songs ever...
A few of my favorites: Simple Man, Sweet Home Alabama... But my favorite has to be Free Bird..It was voted to be in the 100 best guitar songs of all times and deservedly so.... No bad could be churned out from lynyrd skynyrd.. And then back in 1977, three days after the release of the band's fifth album, "Street Survivors," lead singer Ronnie Van Zant, guitarist Steve Gaines, and backing vocalist Cassie Gaines were all killed on impact when their tour plane crashed into a swampy forest... the band was never the same again...
Ironically the lyrics of the song Free Bird:

If I leave here tomorrow
Would you still remember me?
For I must be traveling on, now,
'Cause there's too many places I've got to see.
But, if I stayed here with you, girl,
Things just couldn't be the same.
'Cause I'm as free as a bird now,
And this bird you can not change.

  1. Free bird's my favorite as well. The guitar solo is just heavenly.
